Conversion Style amps

I started doing these conversions to build a great value amp that did not skimp on robust design, great tone and classic or modified circuits that folks could try without breaking the bank. Many of these amps are standard offerings I started selling on Ebay but now are available anytime- just drop me an email at [email protected]
There are a few guys that started their amp building offerings by converting Hammond Organ amps. Dr. Z and Richard Goodsell as examples. I also like the Hammond Organ amps as donor amps because they used great transformers and have the correct room for the tube and circuit layouts I like to use. I basically clean out all the old components and build a new circuit just reusing the chassis and transformers, everything else is new and top quality.
Here are just some of the many dozens of these I have built. Just not enough space to show them all.
This is a Hammond Organ converted into a Matchless Spitfire. The customer supplied a head enclosure and I built the conversion to fit the space.
Inside the circuit for this amp was built out "old school" as a point to point exercise.
Below is a Hammond conversion made into a Matchless Lightning. I scored a nice head cabinet and the chassis fit in perfectly. Sounded great as well.
I don't just convert old organ amps. Below is a Carvin 3200 PCB based production amp that I totally gutted and converted into a 100 watt Plexi style amp. This thing rocked!
As a last example, here is a 70's Music Man amp that I converted to a 100 watt Blackface Vibroverb amp. While it was a lot of work, it sounded fantastic.
