Brownface, Blonde and Blackface Amps

Picture
After the Tweed amps of the 50's and early 60's,  Fender began to transition into the classic slant front chassis amps of the Brown, Blond and Blackface era.  The Brown and Blondface cosmetics and circuits are relatively short lived in terms of production years and numbers of amps built.  They are pretty rare birds today but those Brown and Blondface amps evolved into the Blackface and Silverface amps of the mid 60's and onward.
I build a lot of these amps both as replicas and as custom versions that Fender never made but are based on those old circuits.

Here is an example of a custom variation of a Blond Era Showman amp, this amp was "cut down" to 50 watts of power, a single channel, a voicing mod that allows more gain than a stock version and no tremolo.  This is just one example of what can be done with the basic circuits.
